This is the moment you’ve been waiting for: your Tanzanian safari starts here. You have so much to look forward to and we’ll get your trip underway as soon as we give you an introduction to our team and explain what lies ahead.
Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travellers pass through at some stage. Whether you’re on your way out on safari or here for a little longer, you’ll catch a glimpse of streets filled with energy and colour.
Accommodation:
Under the shade safari lodge situated near Arusha Airport. Set within 10 acres of landscaped gardens and natural vegetation, Under the Shade Safari Lodge is a perfect setting to escape the urban jungle for a therapeutic experience.
Meal Plan: Dinner
After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha and journey to Tarangire National Park, known for its iconic baobab trees and abundant wildlife.
Your 4×4 vehicle, equipped with state-of-the-art optics, ensures you won’t miss a moment of the action. Enjoy a thrilling game drive, as your expert guide navigates through the park’s diverse landscapes, in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. Witness the wildlife in their natural habitat, capturing unforgettable moments.
Later in the early evening, drive to Karatu for an overnight stay at your lodge. Indulge in a delicious dinner, savouring local flavours.
Accommodation:
Eileen’s Trees Inn, is located in Karatu, one of the busiest towns where the road rises towards Ngorongoro Crater from the southeast. But at Eileen’s Trees Inn, you have the best of both worlds. You can walk into town and experience its markets and roadside stalls, then retreat to the inn’s verdant gardens for a real sense of peace.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, we make our way to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. En route, you’ll be captivated by the stunning scenery and the vastness of the African savannah.
Upon entering the Serengeti, your game drive will begin, offering incredible opportunities to see the lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs and many other animals including antelopes as well as other wildlife species.
Your seasoned guide provides detailed explanations of animal behaviour and ecosystem dynamics, making this not just a game drive but a truly educational experience.
Accommodation:
Embalakai Authentic Camp, Stay in wood-floored safari tents at Embalakai Camp, and listen to the wildlife that is present in such numbers in this corner of the central Serengeti. There are very few other camps in the area, which means many more animals than people. The camp is close to the river and otherwise surrounded by savannah.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
There’s no such thing as too many days in the Serengeti, the second day you’ll get to enjoy it all over again.
You’ll delve deeper into the diverse ecosystems and wildlife of the Serengeti. The itinerary is flexible, allowing you to pursue specific interests, whether it’s tracking the Great Migration or observing the predators in action.
Each game drive offers opportunities to witness wildlife behaviour up close, from thrilling predator-prey interactions to the elegance of giraffes and other herbivores grazing on the trees and open plains.
During your game drives, you’ll savour gourmet picnic lunches at carefully chosen spots that provide both scenic beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities. These al fresco dining experiences are a perfect way to connect with nature.
Later after lunch, you will begin heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where by you will have an overnight stay and dinner at your accommodation.
Accommodation:
Embalakai Authentic Camp Ngorongoro, The camp has views over the local acacia trees and out to the far-off hills. It is close to the Elerai River and the Maasai bomas. The dining area, where you will eat breakfast and dinner, is located in the main tent. The deck is the ideal location for watching the sun set over the far-off hills while sipping a cool sundowner.

After breakfast, you descend into the caldera a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s natural wonders. As you head down a unique ecosystem teeming with wildlife unfolds before your eyes. The crater is home to an impressive concentration of animals, making it an exceptional game-viewing destination.
Later in the afternoon enjoy your picnic lunch close to a hippo pool and experience the moment.
Later you will ascend the crater and head back to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule you will transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your ongoing journey.
