Day 1: Arrival Day at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Welcome to the start of your safari and welcome to Tanzania!
This is the moment you’ve been waiting for: your Tanzanian safari starts here. You have so much to look forward to and we’ll get your trip underway as soon as we give you an introduction to our team and explain what lies ahead.
Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travelers pass through at some stage. Whether you’re on your way out on safari or here for a little longer, you’ll catch a glimpse of streets filled with energy and color.

Accommodation:
Under the shade safari lodge situated near Arusha Airport. Set within 10 acres of landscaped gardens and natural vegetation, Under the Shade Safari Lodge is a perfect setting to escape the urban jungle for a therapeutic experience.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha and journey to Tarangire National Park, known for its iconic baobab trees and abundant wildlife.
Your 4×4 vehicle, equipped with state-of-the-art optics, ensures you won’t miss a moment of the action. Enjoy a thrilling game drive, as your expert guide navigates through the park’s diverse landscapes, in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. Witness the wildlife in their natural habitat, capturing unforgettable moments.
Later in the early evening, drive to Karatu for an overnight stay at your lodge. Indulge in a delicious dinner, savouring local flavours.

Eileen’s Trees Inn is located in Karatu, one of the busiest towns where the road rises towards Ngorongoro Crater from the southeast. But at Eileen’s Trees Inn, you have the best of both worlds. You can walk into town and experience its markets and roadside stalls, then retreat to the inn’s verdant gardens for a real sense of peace.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Early in the morning after breakfast you will head to Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching the descending gate you will descend into the caldera a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s natural wonders. As you head down a unique ecosystem teeming with wildlife unfolds before your eyes. The crater is home to an impressive concentration of animals, making it an exceptional game-viewing destination.

Later in the afternoon enjoy your picnic lunch close to a hippo pool and experience the moment.

Later you will ascend the crater and head to Serengeti National Park.

Accommodation:

Embalakai Authentic Camp, Stay in wood-floored safari tents at Embalakai Camp, and listen to the wildlife that is present in such numbers in this corner of the central Serengeti. There are very few other camps in the area, which means many more animals than people. The camp is close to the river and otherwise surrounded by savannah.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, your game drive will begin in the world-famous Serengeti National Park, offering incredible opportunities to see the lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs and many other animals including antelopes as well as other wildlife species.
Your seasoned guide provides detailed explanations of animal behaviour and ecosystem dynamics, making this not just a game drive but a truly educational experience.

Embalakai Authentic Camp, Spend some more time in this privileged Serengeti base at Embalakai Camp.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Zanzibar

On this day, we suggest a very early wake-up in order to do an early morning game drive and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. It’s really one of the most beautiful experiences to have. After the game drive, we will return to the camp for a rewarding brunch.

You’ll then proceed to the airstrip for your flight to your next amazing destination:

Zanzibar.
Alternatively, instead of this early morning game drive, you may choose to stay at the camp for a bit of relaxation.

Day 6: Zanzibar (Prison Island & Stone Town Tour)

Morning: After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you’ll embark on a boat trip to Prison Island. Here, you can explore the historical prison ruins and, most importantly, meet the giant Aldabra tortoises that call the island home. Snorkel in the crystal-clear waters, and you might spot colourful fish and vibrant corals.

Afternoon: Return to Stone Town and savor a delicious seafood lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, delve into the rich history of Zanzibar on a guided tour of Stone Town. Wander through narrow alleyways, visit the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and the bustling markets.

Day 7: Zanzibar (Spice Farm Tour & Jozani)

Morning: Start your day with a visit to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, home to the rare Red Colobus monkeys. Follow the forest trails, listen to the sounds of nature, and keep an eye out for these unique primates. The park is also rich in birdlife and lush vegetation, making it a nature lover’s paradise.

Afternoon: Next, head to a local spice farm. Your guide will introduce you to the various spices and tropical fruits grown on the island, explaining their uses and cultural significance. Enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch, prepared with the freshest ingredients.

Day 8: Zanzibar (Dolphin Tour & Shopping)

Snorkel among vibrant marine life, and savor a fresh seafood picnic on a secluded sandbank.

Afternoon: In the afternoon, you’ll have time for some shopping. Stroll through the vibrant markets of Stone Town, where you can find local crafts, spices, textiles, and intricate artwork. Don’t forget to haggle for the best deals. You can also explore the beachside markets for souvenirs.

Check-out from your hotel and our team will transfer you to the airport, where you’ll bid farewell to this tropical and savanna paradise, carrying with you cherished memories.
